What is double glazing?

Double glazing’s broad definition is; two panes of glass separated by a sealed pocket, typically air or gas. However within double glazing there are three installation options; retrofit double glazing, double glazed insert windows, and full replacement windows & doors.

The addition of double glazed glass can create many benefits for your home such as increased warmth, reduced condensation and reduced sound transmission, however, there are different options that have an affect on the overall effectiveness, look and feel of your install.

How much does double glazing cost?

The cost of double glazing is contingent on factors such as the chosen service type, number of windows & doors to be replaced, and their respective sizes. For this reason we provide FREE, no obligation measure and quotes to guarantee that we supply you with accurate pricing.

A complete window schedule is also provided with each unit priced individually. This is helpful for those on a budget so they know exactly what each room in the house will cost to double glaze. The choice to undertake double glazing in stages is very much an option.

What are my double glazing options?

At Cozy NZ we offer Retrofit Double Glazing, Insert Windows & Hinge Doors* and Full Replacement Windows & Doors. More Information can be found here: https://www.cozy.nz/blog/post/95177/understanding-your-double-glazing-options-with-cozy-nz/

*Insert hinge doors are only available in the Lower North Island

Can my doors be double glazed as well?

Yes, when choosing full replacement we can double glaze both windows & doors. We have an extensive range of door styles and colours to select from, catering to various architectural designs and individual tastes.

Will double glazing reduce noise?

Yes, double glazing alone can reduce your in-home noise pollution by 20%.

How long does the installation process take?

Once installers are onsite an installation can take between 2-5 days depending on the size of the project. This timeline may vary for larger properties.

How long can I expect to wait for my installation?

Cozy NZ wait times are subject to change based on our current workload with higher wait times expected during the winter period of June - August. Our branches can advise their current wait times upon enquiry.

Will double glazing get rid of condensation?

The insulating layer on energy efficient double glazed windows separates your internal windows from the outside temperatures, minimising the effects of condensation. However, cannot guarantee full proof prevention.

What areas do Cozy NZ service?

At Cozy NZ we install double glazing across the majority of the North Island including: Auckland, Waikato, Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupo, Palmerston North, Paraparaumu, Levin, Waikane and Wellington.

If your property is outside these regions please get in touch and we will do our best to point you in the right direction.

Do Cozy NZ offer warranties?

Yes; glass is warrantied for 10 years & aluminium is 10 years minimum. However powder coating can affect warranty length on specific installs.

In regards to installation we provide a 2 year warranty as any related issues will arise within that time period.
